LITTLE FLOWER

Biloba

Come, little flower
Don't think about wilting just yet
For you got all of the springtime
To breathe your perfume breath
At least you've got a home
At least you're not alone
At least you're growing right where you are

I'm just a bee
I'm one of many
Another drawn in by your charm
Don't try to say that out of all of your options
I'm the one
That you would choose
Are you crazy?

I would tell you, if you could, to run
Escape the buzzing
I wish I was another kind of flower
That could stick around
But I'm just a bug
Who fell in love
With a pretty little flower

And when I'm carried up into the sky again
You'll be flying with me where I go
Yes and I'll
Take your pollen on the lonely wind
And find for you a worthy friend
Tuck my antenna and fly to a queen I never chose
To be like this
Is it practice for a life I haven't lived

I got two wings and a stinger
But nothing worthy for my life to give
And other bees tell me
I'm just selfish
That I should do it for the hive
But only for you, little flower
Would I want to give my life
