Die Like Gentlemen

Slowly lumbering forth
Reawakened in pain
Stitched together from parts
A gestalt of remains

Desecrating the dead
Reconstructing a frame
Animation of flesh
Electricity midwiving the profane

The heart is beating again
The lungs are breathing again
The eyes are seeing again
In the quickening light

A conception of pride
The ensoulment of dust
In the quickening light

Unfamiliar voice grunting something bizarre
Unfamiliar hands still can fret a guitar

Slowly lumbering forth
Necrosis in reverse
Muscle memory crawls back
Inarticulate fury comes unrehearsed
