Bedtime Stories

Eileen Alister

Woke up at your place
You don't look at my face
Isn't it cynical?
I wish I wasn't miserable
I'm livin' half-conscious
The world spins in slow motion
The monsters are creepin' in
They're always listenin'

Paper cuts deeper than knife sometimes
They take advantage of it every time
I can see it in all of their eyes
They could kill me at anytime

I hide monsters under every bed
They're getting to my head
What if they start to drive me mad?
Scared you might leave
So, I run before you can
I'm your biggest fan
But you don't wanna know who I am

So run while you still can
You should run while you still can

Mascara-stained pillows
This world swallows me whole
Now, I'm thinking if I go
What would I be remembered for?
I think they'd forget me
Or might even resent me
Try my best but they all left
The monster are all I have

Paper cuts deeper than knife sometimes
They take advantage of it every time
I can see it in all of their eyes
They could kill me at anytime

I hide monsters under every bed
They're getting to my head
What if they start to drive me mad?
Scared you might leave
So, I run before you can
I'm your biggest fan
But you don't wanna know who I am

So run while you still can
You should run while you still can

Skeletons in my closet
I've tried my best to keep them locked in
All I ever wanted
Was build a home, now, it feels haunted
