Bloom again

Elisa Silva

There's a crack in the frozen ground
Light is slipping through
What I thought was buried deep

Was breaking into new
I can feel it in the air
Something shifting slow
The same hands that held me still
Are teaching me to grow

Not every loss was empty
Not every tear was rain
Some were watering the roots
Preparing me for change
What felt like the end of me
Was soil all along
God was turning silent nights
Into a softer song

I will bloom again
From the dirt I've walked through
Every broken piece
Is becoming something new
He was working underground
Where I couldn't see
Now the light is finding
What he planted deep in me

Scars don't disappear
But they don't define the field
Even wounded ground
Can carry what it yields
I am not who I was
And that's a holy thing
Resurrection always comes
Wrapped in early spring

I will bloom again
From the dirt I've walked through
Every broken piece
Is becoming something new
He was working underground
Where I couldn't see
Lnow the light is finding
What he planted deep in me

Winter had its purpose
Utumn had its grace
Every season led me
To this open space
If he calls the flowers out
From the darkest earth
He can call new life in me
He can call it forth

I will bloom again
Not because I'm strong
But because the one who keeps the seasons
Has been here all along
What was buried in the dark
Was never meant to end
When God breathes on dry ground
It will bloom again
