I got the Holy Ghost when I was about thirteen

And God was very good to me and I had very much troubled

I was a very mean fellow, just like

And I

But God was good to me and he

He let me out of jail

And I promised him if I got out that I would serve him

And when I did get out it was probably

Month or two months before I ever repented

But when I did repent, I could feel

The quickening power that comes with the Holy Ghost

But I didn’t have the evidence of speaking in tongues like I had before

And I, I prayed to God for right near to a year

And seek the lord and, and I thought that he was, a fooling with me

And I has never got the power back

I wondered about the tongues, see

Because without, without the evidence of speaking in tongues

Why, we, we ain’t got it

See, and that’s, uh, what I was concerned with

And so I, I prayed

Seek God, and, and I couldn’t get no peace of mind about it

And of course I would dance under the power of it

And the, the quickening power would begin on me

But thank God, (cough) one night it was in a meeting

And it was a young girl, she was playing the piano

And uh, she would, uh, come off the platform

And crying and went to the altar and started repenting

And the Holy Ghost moved up on me and

And I went over and laid hands on her, and the Holy Ghost come up upon her

And I come out of ‘er and thank God, speaking in tongues myself

I got, I got what I’d been looking for, thank the Lord

Ever since then, I’ve been satisfied that God ain’t fooling with me no more

I'm satisfied that he’s really, uh, delivered me from all my marijuana, my sins

E Deus foi muito bom comigo, mesmo com tantos problemas

Eu era um cara bem difícil, assim como

Mas Deus foi bom pra mim e ele

E quando eu saí, provavelmente

Demorou um mês ou dois antes de eu me arrepender

Mas quando eu me arrependi, eu pude sentir

O poder revigorante que vem com o Espírito Santo

Mas eu não tinha a evidência de falar em línguas como antes

E eu, eu orei a Deus por quase um ano

E busquei o Senhor e, e pensei que ele estava, brincando comigo

E eu nunca recuperei o poder

Eu me perguntava sobre as línguas, sabe

Porque sem, sem a evidência de falar em línguas

Por que, nós, nós não temos isso

Sabe, e isso é, uh, o que me preocupava

E então eu, eu orei

Busquei a Deus, e, e não consegui ter paz sobre isso

E claro que eu dançava sob o poder disso

E o, o poder revigorante começava em mim

Mas graças a Deus, (tosse) uma noite em uma reunião

Era uma menina jovem, ela estava tocando piano

E uh, ela desceu do palco

Chorando e foi até o altar e começou a se arrepender

E o Espírito Santo se manifestou em mim e

Eu fui até ela e impus as mãos, e o Espírito Santo veio sobre ela

E eu saí dela e graças a Deus, falando em línguas eu mesmo

Eu consegui, eu consegui o que estava procurando, graças ao Senhor

Desde então, estou satisfeito que Deus não está mais brincando comigo

Estou satisfeito que ele realmente, uh, me libertou de toda a minha maconha, meus pecados
