I saw a man dying and I could not save him
the ditch where he laid he appeared to be sleeping
seeing the light turning back to see him breathing
with a sigh of relief I'm moving still nearer
I can't help but wonder is he a believer
did someone watch him die in a rearview mirror
miracle of life gone out in an instant
the closest that I've been why did I have to see it

Eu vi um homem morrendo e não consegui salvá-lo
na vala onde ele estava, parecia que estava dormindo
vendo a luz voltando, voltei a vê-lo respirando
com um suspiro de alívio, estou me aproximando ainda mais
Não consigo evitar me perguntar se ele é crente
alguém assistiu ele morrer pelo retrovisor
milagre da vida se apagando em um instante
a mais perto que estive, por que eu tive que ver isso
