Before Me
The man who discovered fire,
was probably burned at the steak
for thinking something out of line
as it is with all the thinkers
that leave all others in their wake
recognized long after their time
everybody knows the story of the men
who thought that they would fly
they were laughed right off the yard
and about the greatest fighter,
who said that he'd refuse to fight
when they tried to send him off to war
and so I thank God for those who came along
and felt it all to strong
and paved the way for all -
Before Me
the common thing within them all
is the strength to brave the storm,
and never to conform -

I'm realizing, some things
just can't be compromised
when you know that you are right
its just a simple question
of human authenticity
don't try to hide out of the light
I find the hardest problem,
is those opinions around me
some of them are poisoned from the start
their basis lies in shadows,
something they heard and so believed
nothing developed in the heart

O homem que descobriu o fogo,
provavelmente foi queimado na fogueira
por pensar fora da caixa
como acontece com todos os pensadores
que deixam os outros pra trás
reconhecidos muito tempo depois de sua época
todo mundo conhece a história dos homens
que achavam que poderiam voar
eles foram ridicularizados no quintal
e sobre o maior lutador,
que disse que se recusaria a lutar
quando tentaram mandá-lo para a guerra
e assim eu agradeço a Deus por aqueles que vieram
e sentiram tudo intensamente
e abriram caminho para todos -

a coisa comum entre todos eles
é a força para enfrentar a tempestade,
e nunca se conformar -
Antes de Mim
estou percebendo, algumas coisas
simplesmente não podem ser negociadas
quando você sabe que está certo
é apenas uma questão simples
de autenticidade humana
não tente se esconder da luz
acho que o maior problema,
são essas opiniões ao meu redor
algumas delas estão envenenadas desde o começo
a base delas está nas sombras,
algo que ouviram e assim acreditaram
nada se desenvolveu no coração.
