Flax Bloom

Highland Seas

With soil in my hands
I whispered prayers for rain

I cleared the field with quiet care
Pulled out roots too old to name
I sowed my gestures full of hope
But not all things bloom just by will alone

There was too much wind
Snowed out of season, too soon
And still it bloomed so gently
Like a flax bloom in the Sun

Love is soil, and time, and tending
Not every fruit is meant to feed
Some crops endure, some teach an ending
A harvest sown by hope, not need

Love is soil, and time, and tending
Not every fruit is meant to feed
Some crops endure, some teach an ending
A harvest sown by hope, not need

Thorns and flowers grew on the same branch
I watered too much, lost track of time
Sometimes, it's care that causes damage
Sometimes, it's leaving things behind

There was too much wind
Snowed out of season, too soon
And still it bloomed so gently
Like a flax bloom in the Sun

Love is soil, and time, and tending
Not every fruit is meant to feed
Some crops endure, some teach an ending
A harvest sown by hope, not need

Love is soil, and time, and tending
Not every fruit is meant to feed
Some crops endure, some teach an ending
A harvest sown by hope, not need

Some crops endure, some teach an ending
Some crops endure, some teach an ending
