i started changin flirtin with gang bangin had the hook up on ol' skoo so everyday i was out hangin and then i heard gun shots they aimin at my head and thats when the fun stopped cuz next i might be dead i called my mama on the phone said this is your son i need some help im in a whole lot of trouble and cant get through by myself they shot out a plane and flew me out no doubt i said goodbye to my friends then disappeared in the clouds they told me ray j you gotta turn yourself around now or throw it all away and lay six feet in the ground
im totally focused i gotta move forward i hear my callin this time i just wont ignore it into the future throw all the past and then you came and you can grow...

no jardim de infância até sair da escola, comecei a andar com os caras errados, fui de aqui pra más notícias. então minha irmã começou a estourar, vi o dinheiro subir, mas mal via ela e minha mãe, eu costumava ficar na esquina, me sentia um solitário, mas tenho amor pelos meus parças.
comecei a mudar, flertando com o crime, tinha as manhas da antiga, então todo dia eu tava por aí, e então ouvi tiros, eles miravam na minha cabeça, e foi aí que a diversão parou, porque a próxima poderia ser eu morto. liguei pra minha mãe e disse: “mãe, sou eu, preciso de ajuda, tô em muita encrenca e não consigo sair dessa sozinho.”
eles derrubaram um avião e me tiraram de lá, sem dúvida, me despedi dos meus amigos e desapareci nas nuvens. disseram: “Ray J, você precisa mudar agora ou jogar tudo fora e ficar seis pés debaixo da terra.”
estou totalmente focado, preciso seguir em frente, ouço meu chamado, dessa vez não vou ignorar, indo pro futuro, deixando todo o passado pra trás, e então você veio e pode crescer...
