The Last Page

Jaxson Miller

I've filled the pages, and the ink is finally dry
No more searching, for the whys in the sky
The house is standing, even if the windows shake
It's a long road back, from every choice I had to make

It's not a goodbye, it's not the end of the road
It's just the moment, to let go of the load

This is the last page of the story we built!
Washing the ashes and clearing the guilt!
Drawn in the dust, but now etched in the stone
The blueprint is finished, I'm finally home!

I hear the echo, of the songs we used to sing
Through the wreckage, and the hope that tomorrow brings
The paper is yellow, but the heart is still red
Finding the peace, in everything we said

The architecture is complete!
The foundation is strong!
It's been a long time, but this is where I belong!

This is the last page of the story we built!
Washing the ashes and clearing the guilt!
Drawn in the dust, but now etched in the stone
The blueprint is finished, I'm finally home!

So tell me
When the rain stops
Will you remember the song?
Still here
