I'll see you somewhere along the river, as this
hiatus ends and summer turns to fall. If you bring
your words I'll bring pen and paper. It's been a
lot of time and a lot of ache between the days that
we've shared. But none that matters now, we've
got a past that's past and a fall not to fall.
We once sung about loss and the memories that
a room brings. You've met her now, by the lock.
We once walked through town, through the blocks
where I grew up. Those blocks need you now.
There'll be names on all walls you pass. Some of
them you'll learn, some you won't have to, they're
no longer with us. There'll be history in streets
you'll walk that you won't ever know of. Who
wrote it, for what reasons and who it's written
about. So lay down your own and put me in it.

Eu vou te ver em algum lugar ao longo do rio, enquanto esse
hiato acaba e o verão se transforma em outono. Se você trouxer
suas palavras, eu trago caneta e papel. Já faz
um bom tempo e muita dor entre os dias que
compartilhamos. Mas nada disso importa agora, temos
um passado que ficou pra trás e um outono que não devemos deixar cair.
Nós já cantamos sobre perdas e as memórias que
um quarto traz. Você a conheceu agora, perto do cadeado.
Nós já andamos pela cidade, pelos quarteirões
onde eu cresci. Esses quarteirões precisam de você agora.
Haverá nomes em todas as paredes que você passar. Alguns
você vai conhecer, outros não precisa, eles
não estão mais conosco. Haverá história nas ruas
que você vai andar que você nunca vai saber. Quem
escreveu, por quais razões e sobre quem foi escrito.
Então coloque a sua própria e me inclua nela.
Porque eu preciso esquecer e substituir, deixar pra lá e
seguir em frente para algo melhor.
