I'm Floating High

Kelly Boesch

I took the lock off of the door
'Cause I don't live there anymore
I felt the wind upon my skin
And let the open sky come in
The heavy world is far below
I'm letting all the trouble go

I'm floating up
I'm floating high, a silver bird
Up in the sky
No gravity to pull me down
I'm rising above this lonely town
I am light and I am free
The open air is holding me

I left my shoes beside the gate
I didn't want to be too late
The clouds are soft, the air is sweet
I'm lifting high up off of my feet
The noises fade, the lights go dim
I'm dancing on the outer rim

I cut this tree
I cut the tie
I wave the heavy world goodbye
I'm drifting in the blue and white
Into the middle of the light
Higher now and higher still
Beyond the top of every hill
I'm gone
