Purgatory
Days are long
And the nights so cold
Down here in the gutter
It eats at your soul
I inch myself above to fall a foot back down
Addicted to my pain
And never seeking help
Have you seen seen purgatory's light
Shining from beyond
It waits for me to die
No use to even try and fight
My fate's been set in stone
So don't pray for me tonight
And if there's such a thing as a being from above
It's laughing at me now
Don't tell me who to trust
I won't accept a thing that refuses to be seen
The only thing that's real is a needle in my vain
And my story shall be told of a man who fell to earth
Not knowing how to love, or a thing about self worth
He escaped so many times from a reality of hurt
That his mind just fell apart, never to return
