Thank God

Leanna Crawford

I remember the year that
Spring felt a little colder
The sky was heavy
Like it was crying on my shoulder
Just wasn't myself
Needed some help
Kinda hard to admit
That I wasn't doing well

And I remember my momma
Said: Baby don't you worry
He's got this, it's a process
Just let Him write your story
The hardest thing I went through
I turned into a tattoo
And now I'm looking back and thinkin'

Thank God
For all the times that He said: No
Thank God
He let me walk the harder road
Thank God that not too soon
When I was lost
His light broke through
And even when I think it's over
Second chances still come true
Thank God

I'm not saying for a second
That I got all the answers
I'm just aiming towards heaven
Trying to focus on what matters
Just one day at a time
That's my repeating line
So I'm just looking up and thinkin'

Thank God
For all the times that He said: No
Thank God
He let me walk the harder road
Thank God that not too soon
When I was lost
His light broke through
And even when I think it's over
Second chances still come true

Thank God
That I don't need to walk alone
Thank God
That it ain't me up on that throne
And thank God, 'cause I assume
He's got a million things to do
But while He's watching over me
He's still watching over you
Thank God

Thank God
(Mhmm)
Thank God

There's a part of all good stories
Where you wonder if the morning Sun will shine
Again
Sometimes faith is learning lessons
Sometimes pain turns into blessings
So I'm remembering

To thank God
For all the times that He said: No
Thank God
He let me walk the harder road
Thank God that not too soon
When I was lost
His light broke through
And even when I think it's over
Second chances still come true

Thank God
That I don't need to walk alone
Thank God
That it ain't me up on that throne
Thank God, 'cause I assume
He's got a million things to do
But while He's watching over me
He's still watching over you
Thank God

Thank God
