Heaven In His Eyes
See the Teacher sitting on a mountain
See Him walking along the shore
Friends and disciples gath'ring around Him
Say never spake a man like this before
But why's a man as wise as He
Weeping alone in Gethsemane
Did He know some would never see
The heaven in His eyes?
See the Master walking on the water
Hear Him speak and calm an angry wave
Look at Him raise up Jairus's daughter
And with a word Laz'rus
Comes forth from the grave
But why is a man as strong as this
Being betrayed by a good friend's kiss
Could it be that maybe this man missed
The heaven in His eyes?
I'm not talking about the pie in the sky
That you good girls and boys
Get in the by and by
But rather the strength
The strength that we can find
If we've got the guts to try
See the Teacher playing with the children
Hear Him baffle doctors of the law
Look at the people gath'ring to go with Him
Those who see the vision that He saw
This is why a man as holy as He
Had to die alone on Calvary
It was the only way that we could ever see
The heaven in His eyes

Veja-O caminhando ao longo da praia
Amigos e discípulos reunindo-se ao Seu redor
Dizendo: Nunca homem algum falou assim antes
Mas por que um homem tão sábio quanto Ele
Chorava sozinho no Getsêmani?
Será que Ele sabia que alguns jamais veriam
O céu em Seus olhos?
Veja o Mestre caminhando sobre as águas
Ouça-O falar e acalmar uma onda furiosa
Olhe para Ele ressuscitando a filha de Jairo
E, com uma palavra, Lázaro
Sai do sepulcro
Mas por que um homem tão forte como este
Estava sendo traído pelo beijo de um bom amigo?
Será que talvez este homem tenha deixado de ver
O céu em Seus olhos?
Não estou falando de um prêmio distante no céu
Que vocês, bons meninos e meninas
Receberão algum dia no futuro
Mas sim da força
Da força que podemos encontrar
Se tivermos coragem de tentar
Veja o Mestre brincando com as crianças
Ouça-O deixar perplexos os doutores da Lei
Veja as pessoas reunindo-se para segui-Lo
Aqueles que enxergam a visão que Ele viu
É por isso que um homem tão santo quanto Ele
Teve de morrer sozinho no Calvário
Era a única maneira de que pudéssemos algum dia ver
