As I was lying on my pillow last night
I saw the strangest sight
A green machine with flashing lights
And as I stared and wondered
What it could be for
Hoping to see more
A Martian came right through my door
"Where have I landed ?
My ship is stranded"
Martian Man, take my hand
We are a part of whatever the stars planned
Let's stick together, whatever they say
And he explained the Earth was no place
No atmosphere, and I could not live there
We both were made with different spheres
And anyway the green man
Couldn't mix with white
And Mars wasn't right
He disappeared into the night

Enquanto eu estava deitado no meu travesseiro ontem à noite
Vi a coisa mais estranha
Uma máquina verde com luzes piscando
E enquanto eu olhava e me perguntava
Pra que poderia ser
Esperando ver mais
Um marciano entrou pela minha porta
"Onde eu pousei?
Minha nave está presa"
Homem Marciano, pega minha mão
Somos parte do que as estrelas planejaram
Vamos ficar juntos, independente do que digam
E ele explicou que a Terra não era lugar
Sem atmosfera, e eu não poderia viver lá
Nós dois éramos feitos de esferas diferentes
E de qualquer forma, o homem verde
Não podia misturar com o branco
E Marte não era certo
Ele desapareceu na noite
