A suffering people who resist
And made this place their paradise
So many hardships and uncertainties
But that never shook these warriors
Ancestors who crossed the ocean
Without knowing where they would live
Promises of a better place
Landed and lived here
Many days without water
Animals dying of hunger
The hope of a rainy
Winter for the plantation and offspring to prosper
We remain on the same ground
Even with all the problems
Resistance kept us standing
And we are still here today
