Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
But as for me an' Grandpa, we believe.
She'd been drinking too much eggnog,
And we begged her not to go.
But she forgot her medication,
And she staggered out the door into the snow.
When we found her Christmas morning,
At the scene of the attack
She had hoof prints on her forehead,
And incriminating Claus marks on her back.
Now we're all so proud of Grandpa,
He's been taking this so well.
See him in there watching football,
Drinking beer and playing cards
with cousin Mel.
It's not Christmas without Grandma,
All the family's dressed in black.
And we just can't figure out
Should we open up her gifts
or send them back?

Vovó foi atropelada por uma rena
Voltando pra casa na véspera de Natal.
Você pode dizer que Papai Noel não existe,
Mas eu e o vovô, a gente acredita.
Ela tinha bebido muito ponche,
E a gente implorou pra ela não ir.
Mas ela esqueceu da medicação,
E saiu tonta pela porta na neve a cair.
Quando a encontramos na manhã de Natal,
No local do acidente,
Tinha marcas de casco na testa,
E marcas de Claus nas costas, bem evidente.
Agora estamos todos tão orgulhosos do vovô,
Ele tem lidado com isso tão bem.
Vê ele lá assistindo futebol,
Bebendo cerveja e jogando cartas
com o primo Mel.
Não é Natal sem a vovó,
Toda a família vestida de preto.
E a gente não consegue decidir
Se devemos abrir os presentes dela
ou devolver tudo, sem jeito.
