Way Back When
I remember way back when I started getting involved
with all this. so many faces
I don´t see anymore. names were named followed by a tale,
"he even let his hair grow long".
I wonder what the one who told me that is doing now.
so what´s the score so far?
a hundred souls forgotten and a bunch of us
who are still trying to bring it down.
believe me it is hard keeping yourself toghether
while everyone else just falls apart.
the way things were, and the songs we´d sing,
and all the plans we´ve ever made,
every last promise unkept are all the memories you spoiled.
but here´s me, remember me?,
to remind you of all that cause it was there
and it was real just like you and me.
my days are running out
I´m trying to make them count in everything i do.
Lá no Começo
Eu me lembro lá no começo quando comecei a me envolver
com tudo isso. tantas caras
que não vejo mais. nomes foram ditos seguidos de uma história,
"ele até deixou o cabelo crescer".
Eu me pergunto o que está fazendo agora quem me contou isso.
E aí, qual é a situação até agora?
centenas de almas esquecidas e um monte de nós
que ainda estamos tentando derrubar isso.
Acredite, é difícil manter-se firme
enquanto todo mundo só desmorona.
Como as coisas eram, e as músicas que cantávamos,
e todos os planos que já fizemos,
todas as promessas não cumpridas são todas as memórias que você estragou.
Mas aqui estou eu, lembra de mim?,
para te lembrar de tudo isso porque estava lá
e era real, assim como você e eu.
Meus dias estão se esgotando
estou tentando fazer valer a pena em tudo que faço.
