Sunrise in My Cup

Robert Lee

I woke up inside a dream
Ceiling breathing
Walls in bloom
Pulled the curtains in my mind
Let a sunrise flood the room

Coffee cold on my nightstand
But there's light in every drop
Little clouds in every thought
Spinning slow
Then they stop

Sunrise in my cup
Watch it overflow my head
Every color waking up
Painting over all the dread
If I can open both my eyes
While I'm lying here
Stuck
I could hold a whole new sky
In a sunrise in my cup (wake up)

Kitchen floor's an ocean
Tiles turn into tiny waves
Every doubt I ever had
Floating like forgotten names

You're a shadow in the doorway
Or a memory I made up
Either way you stir the storm
In the bottom of my cup

Sunrise in my cup
Watch it overflow my head
Every color waking up
Painting over all the dread
If I can open both my eyes
While I'm lying here
Stuck
I could hold a whole new sky
In a sunrise in my cup (wake up, wake up)

Is this real?
Or just the real I choose?
If I don't move
Do I still lose?

So I breathe once
Breathe twice
Let the dark part
Melt in the light

Sunrise in my cup
Watch it overflow my head
Every color waking up
Where the fear once made its bed
If I can open both my eyes
While the world feels made up
I'll still find a brand-new day
In a sunrise in my cup (wake up)
