We Were Born In the Right Time

Sun Vessel

I still recognise that face
Though downcast and out of place
Unsure of what's to come
Always feeling like you're on the run
I remember the smile
That lingered for a while
It's still there, hidden in the heath
Hidden under careworn grief

These are the things that can't fall apart
These are the things they can't take away
We were born in the right time
The right place
These are the things that can't fall apart
These are the things they can't take away
We were born in the night time
Of God's grace

We tread with unsure gait
Through ruins once great
And though ruins they now might be
Their song echoes through eternity
We, together, can make
A new destiny for our childrens' sake
Smash our chains and lift up our heads
And sacrifice for our destiny's tread

These are the things that can't fall apart
These are the things they can't take away
We were born in the right time
The right place
These are the things that can't fall apart
These are the things they can't take away
We were born in the night time
Of God's grace

We tread through lonely sombre fields of black
And we may mourn, but there's no looking back
Our path is laid before us in the gloom
And if we turn from it, we seal our doom

These are the things that can't fall apart
These are the things they can't take away
We were born in the right time
The right place
These are the things that can't fall apart
These are the things they can't take away
We were born in the night time
Of God's grace
