We've got hearts that we want broken cause
we learned it on tv tv learned it from the stage
the stage learned it from the stories that we've told
around the fires in the dark and lonely nights
by the wild old men and women with fire in their eyes and
the singers wish doom for everybody when they
pen those catchy melodies why else would they sell such
sadness and sorrow whey would they make it sound
so catchy so romantic so tragic so sad so irresistible
do we copy art or is the art just us why do we
break our hearts if it cliche or is it love do we want
to be sad and cause we saw it on tv or is this
world to fucked for anyone to be happy do the
singers wish doom for everybody or do they really mean
the things they sing did they make the world sad or did
the world do it to them does anyone feel anythings?

Temos corações que queremos quebrar porque
aprendemos isso na TV, a TV aprendeu no palco
o palco aprendeu com as histórias que contamos
ao redor das fogueiras nas noites escuras e solitárias
pelos velhos e velhas com fogo nos olhos e
os cantores desejam a desgraça para todo mundo quando eles
escrevem essas melodias cativantes, por que mais eles venderiam tal
tristeza e dor? Por que fariam parecer
tão cativante, tão romântico, tão trágico, tão triste, tão irresistível?
Nós copiamos a arte ou a arte é só nós? Por que quebramos
nossos corações se é clichê ou é amor? Queremos
ficar tristes porque vimos isso na TV ou este
mundo é tão fodido que ninguém pode ser feliz? Os
cantores desejam a desgraça para todo mundo ou eles realmente
significam as coisas que cantam? Eles deixaram o mundo triste ou o
mundo fez isso com eles? Alguém sente alguma coisa?
