As long as I've known her she has been lost

Almost forgotten, like a fleeting thought

It's been years since I've seen her, years since we've talked

I've heard of her struggles and they've broken my heart

There were battles she chose not to fight

How I wish she could have been stronger

And I prayed for her night after night

But I just can't pray any harder

Lord, teach her to walk in the truth of all that she is in You

Show her the beauty that's waiting to fully break through

You're the only light for the day,

the only One who brings rain

Like a flower she'll bloom as she opens her life up to You

There are prodigal daughters and there are prodigal sons ashamed of the people they've finally become

All they see are the failures of their wayward lives

The marks of the journey left them wounded inside

There were battles they chose not to fight

How I wish they could've been stronger

And I prayed for them night after night

Till I just can't pray any harder

Lord, teach them to walk in the truth of all that they are in You

But there's a Savior who will take every weakness and turn it for good
