How I Spent My Time In The City
These streets are cold,
And some things just cant be told
As I wait alone, but you know how that goes.
When everything becomes a blur to me,
Chiors sing the street songs that I've come to know.
And the world is turning into the city today.
I spend my days traveling underground
In bright subways until the sun goes down.
I spend my nights growing flowers by candlelight
In dark hotels until the sun comes up and we go for a walk
So we can talk,
Or we can say nothing at all.
Let's go for a drive
They'll never find us alive if we say nothing,
Cause the world is turning into the city
Sometimes I wonder if I will ever leave the city.
Sometimes the air is very hard to breathe in the city.
While all the ghosts are marching in the streets,
I make the same mistakes. please forgive me.
Your simple toys remind my of the noise
That I once heard of motor cars and crashing birds.
I stand alone remembering my home
And where we'll go when all these buildings turn to stone.

Quando tudo se torna um borrão pra mim,
Corais cantam as músicas da rua que aprendi a conhecer.
E o mundo está se transformando na cidade hoje.
Eu passo meus dias viajando debaixo da terra
Em metrôs brilhantes até o sol se pôr.
Eu passo minhas noites cultivando flores à luz de velas
Em hotéis escuros até o sol nascer e a gente sair pra andar
Pra gente poder conversar,
Ou a gente pode não dizer nada.
Vamos dar uma volta de carro
Eles nunca vão nos encontrar vivos se não dissermos nada,
Porque o mundo está se transformando na cidade
Às vezes me pergunto se algum dia vou deixar a cidade.
Às vezes o ar é muito difícil de respirar na cidade.
Enquanto todos os fantasmas marcham nas ruas,
Eu cometo os mesmos erros. Por favor, me perdoe.
Seus brinquedos simples me lembram do barulho
Que eu uma vez ouvi de carros e pássaros colidindo.
Eu fico sozinho lembrando da minha casa
E pra onde iremos quando todos esses prédios se tornarem pedra.
