Near-Hearted

Living behind eyes, it's dormant
Still under my bed
Not so uncomfortable, but it's hard to capture again
The light, the tide, the sights
The way it pulled me headfirst in
Didn't notice the water till it was burning up my skin

But these beginnings
Have me thinking

That all of this was meant to be
So dazzling, an imminent nightmare
As if I thought you even cared
Your aquamarine influence
Ebbs and flows
Hitting me right there
Right where it hurts

Falling behind times
I'm open, poised and wasting more
Drenched in collateral, the stench of fresh faith taunts
Me, is this future bound?
Despairing, quick indulgence
Only gets these lacking hands so far

But I just keep it coming
Hit the ground, I can't stop running
