Tristeza de Aniversário

Beth Thornton

Birthday Sadness

Candles lit up on my cake
Won't eat it
Really trying to act my age
Don't feel it
Wishing I could fly away
But I'm sinking
Knowing there's nothing I can do
Twenty something came too soon

And I know I'm still young
With a lifetime in front of me
But all I see is time running out

Every year to the day no I can't run away from the birthday sadness
I feel time slip away, I'm no good with change and the way it happens
Times showing on my face
And the memories they fade
Every year to the day no I can't get away from the birthday sadness

When I dress up I get down
Look in the mirror
Think who's that girl? She's older now
It's clear
Every year it comes around
So much quicker
Knowing there's nothing I can do
And I hate the thought that I peaked too soon

And I know I'm still young
With a lifetime in front of me
But all I see is time running out

Every year to the day no I can't run away from the birthday sadness
I feel time slip away, I'm no good with change and the way it happens
Times showing on my face
And the memories they fade
Every year to the day no I can't get away from the birthday sadness

Candles lit up on my cake
Laughing but my smile is fake
Guess that I'm just at that age
Where you can't go back
And pray to God that it turns out ok

Every year to the day no I can't run away from the birthday sadness
I feel time slip away, I'm no good with change and the way it happens
Times showing on my face
And the memories they fade
Every year to the day no I can't get away from the birthday sadness

Candles lit up on my cake
Laughing but my smile is fake
Guess that I'm just at that age
Every year to the day no I can't get away from the birthday sadness

Tristeza de Aniversário

Velas acesas no meu bolo
Não vou comer
Tentando agir da minha idade
Mas não sinto isso
Desejando poder voar longe
Vinte e poucos chegou cedo demais

O tempo marcando no meu rosto

Quando me arrumo, fico pra baixo
Olho no espelho

O tempo marcando no meu rosto

Velas acesas no meu bolo

O tempo marcando no meu rosto

Velas acesas no meu bolo
