Like from a former life, memories still arise
Had a body full of power but a duller mind
I thought I knew it all, acted like a prick
Ran against the walls and into all trouble I could find

I tried and failed so many times
But I keep on standing up again
Fell on my face time after time
But I'm never giving up

Out of the ashes the phoenix will rise
Stronger than before and twice as wise

Stand up when you fall, before walking we all crawl
We're growing up in stages, no one gets born knowin' all
Patience ain't no friend of mine, still good things take their time
Some lessons are expensive others won't cost a single dime

I try and fail time after time
It's the art of learning right from wrong
One lesson hurts, another's vile
