He woke up from within the sea
he had a date with destiny
his heart was strong
his head was weak
filled with hope from memories
i relate so much to him
his heart and soul and suffering
by my accounts twas the day
september third she ran away
called the coach and filled her bags
with useless words and dirty rags
she ran up to the beach and said
I'm here my love and wondered if
he'd break from between the waves
and to the depths they will sing

on that beach she waits and waits
the weeks go by anticipates
his smiling face and warm embrace
her heart so chaffed it confiscates
all measure of a happy thought
all tears she shed all fights she fought
on that day a soldier came

the objects that fell from the sky
resembled which fell from her eyes

remembering the better days
they'd sit together on the pier
