I knew it from the start
You were a storm in motion

I heard the warning sirens
I saw the cracks beneath our feet
But I called it love instead

Everybody told me
Some fires only burn
But I kept running toward you
Just to watch the whole thing hurt

Maybe I loved the chaos more
Than I ever loved someone

We were young and reckless
Turning scars into tattoos
Collecting broken promises
Like they were something to lose

Every goodbye was temporary
Every comeback felt brand new
We kept mistaking desperation
For something true

Everybody told me
Some hearts can't be repaired
But I kept holding onto pieces
Long after they disappeared
