Stars and Satellites

I was born in the City of Toronto
Given on the third of July
Beneath the stars and satellites
And the ceiling in my room and I would cry
Saying Mother do you know where I've been hiding?

Father, do you know where I've been?
In the autumn under the maple tree
These shoes are getting too small for my feet

It won't be long before I'm on my own
And I'm hoping that the stars and satellites

To see much further then my mind has understood

21 years old and I'm worried
That I might never take the time I need
Because my hair has always been so
Much older then my shoulders can believe
