Job 1

Tiago, servo de Deus e do Senhor Jesus Cristo, manda palavras de amor para as doze tribos dos judeus que vivem em todas as partes da terra.James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, sends words of love to the twelve tribes of the Jews living in all parts of the earth.
2 Que seja toda alegria para vocês, meus irmãos, quando enfrentarem provas de todo tipo;2 Let it be all joy to you, my brothers, when you undergo tests of every sort;
3 Porque vocês sabem que a prova da sua fé traz a força para seguir em frente com esperança;3 Because you have the knowledge that the testing of your faith gives you the power of going on in hope;
4 Mas que essa força tenha seu efeito completo, para que vocês sejam feitos completos, não precisando de nada.4 But let this power have its full effect, so that you may be made complete, needing nothing.
5 Mas se algum de vocês está sem sabedoria, peça a Deus, que dá livremente a todos sem reprovação, e isso lhe será dado.5 But if any man among you is without wisdom, let him make his request to God, who gives freely to all without an unkind word, and it will be given to him.
6 Peça com fé, sem duvidar de nada; pois quem tem dúvida no coração é como as ondas do mar, que são agitadas pelo vento.6 Let him make his request in faith, doubting nothing; for he who has doubt in his heart is like the waves of the sea, which are troubled by the driving of the wind.
7 Que não pareça a tal homem que receberá algo do Senhor;7 Let it not seem to such a man that he will get anything from the Lord;
8 Pois há uma divisão em sua mente, e ele é incerto em todos os seus caminhos.8 For there is a division in his mind, and he is uncertain in all his ways.
9 Mas que o irmão de posição humilde se alegre por ser elevado;9 But let the brother of low position be glad that he is lifted up;
10 E o homem rico, que se humilhe; porque como a flor da grama, ele chegará ao fim.10 But the man of wealth, that he is made low; because like the flower of the grass he will come to his end.
11 Pois quando o sol nasce com seu calor ardente, a grama seca e a beleza de sua forma se vai com a flor que cai; assim, o homem rico chega a nada em seus caminhos.11 For when the sun comes up with its burning heat, the grass gets dry and the grace of its form is gone with the falling flower; so the man of wealth comes to nothing in his ways.
12 Há uma bênção sobre o homem que passa por provas; porque, se ele tem a aprovação de Deus, receberá a coroa da vida, que o Senhor prometeu dar àqueles que o amam.12 There is a blessing on the man who undergoes testing; because, if he has God's approval, he will be given the crown of life, which the Lord has said he will give to those who have love for him.
13 Que ninguém diga, quando for testado, que está sendo testado por Deus; pois não é possível que Deus seja testado pelo mal, e ele mesmo não coloca ninguém em tal prova:13 Let no man say when he is tested, I am tested by God; for it is not possible for God to be tested by evil, and he himself puts no man to such a test:
14 Mas cada homem é testado quando é atraído para fora do caminho certo pelo desejo que tem.14 But every man is tested when he is turned out of the right way by the attraction of his desire.
15 Então, quando chega a hora, o desejo dá à luz o pecado; e o pecado, quando está completo, dá à luz a morte.15 Then when its time comes, desire gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is of full growth, gives birth to death.
16 Não se desviem do caminho certo, queridos irmãos.16 Do not be turned from the right way, dear brothers.
17 Toda boa e verdadeira dádiva vem do céu, descendo do Pai das luzes, com quem não há mudança ou sombra de variação.17 Every good and true thing is given to us from heaven, coming from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change or any shade made by turning.
18 De seu propósito, ele nos deu existência, pela sua palavra verdadeira, para que possamos ser, de certa forma, as primícias de todas as coisas que ele fez.18 Of his purpose he gave us being, by his true word, so that we might be, in a sense, the first-fruits of all the things which he had made.
19 Vocês têm conhecimento disso, queridos irmãos. Mas que cada homem seja rápido para ouvir, lento para falar, lento para se irar;19 You have knowledge of this, dear brothers. But let every man be quick in hearing, slow in words, slow to get angry;
20 Pois a justiça de Deus não se realiza pela ira do homem.20 For the righteousness of God does not come about by the wrath of man.
21 Por isso, afastando toda conduta suja e o excesso do mal, recebam em suas almas, sem orgulho, a palavra que, sendo plantada ali, pode dar a vocês a salvação.21 For this reason, putting away all dirty behaviour and the overweight of evil, take into your souls without pride the word which, being planted there, is able to give you salvation.
22 Mas sejam praticantes da palavra, e não apenas ouvintes, enganando-se com ideias falsas.22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers of it, blinding yourselves with false ideas.
23 Porque se alguém é ouvinte da palavra e não praticante, é como um homem que olha para seu rosto natural em um espelho;23 Because if any man is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a glass;
24 Pois depois de olhar para si mesmo, ele vai embora, e em pouco tempo não se lembra de como era.24 For after looking at himself he goes away, and in a short time he has no memory of what he was like.
25 Mas quem continua olhando para a verdadeira lei que o liberta, não sendo apenas um ouvinte sem memória, mas um praticante que a coloca em prática, esse homem será abençoado em suas ações.25 But he who goes on looking into the true law which makes him free, being not a hearer without memory but a doer putting it into effect, this man will have a blessing on his acts.
26 Se alguém parece ter religião e não controla sua língua, mas se deixa enganar pelo que é falso, a religião desse homem não tem valor.26 If a man seems to have religion and has no control over his tongue but lets himself be tricked by what is false, this man's religion is of no value.
27 A religião que é pura e sem mal diante de nosso Deus e Pai é esta: cuidar de órfãos e viúvas em suas dificuldades, e manter-se sem mancha do mundo.27 The religion which is holy and free from evil in the eyes of our God and Father is this: to take care of children who have no fathers and of widows who are in trouble, and to keep oneself untouched by the world.
