Suki In The Well

The barbwire fences and mesquite tree walls
Give birth to legends as the evening falls
The living creatures by the firelight
Carve out the features to a child's mind

Somewhere the living can still meet the dead
I get a vivid picture in my head
Off in the darkness I can sense the eyes
And all alone now I can hear the night come alive

And I got a bad feeling now
There's something chasing me down
It's gonna be hard to rest my head
And blow them candles out
Running on bare feet to get to my trailer house
Scared to death of all the dark things that they told me
Was creeping around

The creaking screen doors gave me away
But I always managed to outstep my fate
I'd swear a finger brushed against my neck
God, I'll never wander near a well again

'Cause I got a bad feeling now
There's something chasing me down
It's gonna be hard to rest my head
And blow them candles out
Running on bare feet to get to my trailer house
Scared to death of all the dark things that they told me
Was creeping around

Some nights I wake in a sweat
From dreams I'd love to forget
I swear to God I'll get right
Don't let, don't let
Suki take me tonight

'Cause I got a bad feeling now
There's something chasing me down
It's gonna be hard to rest my head
And blow them candles out
Running on bare feet to get to my trailer house
Scared to death of all the dark things that they told me

I got a bad feeling now
There's something chasing me down
It's gonna be hard to rest my head
And blow them candles out
Running on bare feet to get to my trailer house
Scared to death of all the dark things that they told me
Was creeping around

Creeping around
