Eu vou construir meu lar com poesiaI will be building my home out of poetry
Retalhos de velhos volumes, fio e cola,Scraps of old volumes, wire and glue,
Vai ser algo, mesmo que frágil, é tudo que posso fazerWill be something, though feeble, it's all I can do
No fundo da sala meus dedos vão tremerIn the back of the room my fingers will shake
Com a fúria de alguém que tem algo a criarWith the fury of someone with something to make
Que o levará tão longe, longe desse lugarThat will take him so far, far away from this place
Que ele nunca vai olhar pra trás pros vermes e as cobrasThat he'll never look back at all the worms and the snakes

E eles vão lamber meus calcanhares, mas nem são reaisAnd they'll lick at my heals, but they aren't even real
Vou rodopiar e girar pelo céu, bem acima da torreI will twirl and wheel through the skyway, high over the steeple
