Além de um horizonte crepuscular onde as montanhas estavam cobertas de neve
From beyond a twilight horizon where mountains were covered with snow

Once a man on a horse came the way

On an early autumnal morning, when dew lay chill on the ground
E os primeiros raios do Sol anunciaram o dia
And the Sun's first rays heralded the day
Para finalmente descansar depois de cavalgar por mais de três dias e noites
To rest at last after riding for more than three days and nights
Pelas florestas e pelas paisagens rasas
Through the woods and across the shallow landscapes
Para finalmente chegar à aldeia, os rumores estavam falando
To finally reach the village the rumours where talking about
E onde o rei pagão viveu durante muitos anos
And where the heathen king lived for many years

Sua armadura dourada brilhava à luz do Sol que despertava
His golden armour was shining by the light of awakening Sun
E em sua mão ele segurava um escudo de bronze
And in his hand he held a bronzen shield
Em que todas as runas foram escritas por um ferreiro de grande sabedoria
On which the runes all were written by a blacksmith of wisdom great
Para guiá-lo em seu caminho por tanto tempo
To guide him on his way so long
Ele veio trazer a mensagem que o rei lhe deu
He had come to bring the message the king has given to him
Para ser transmitido a todos os países pagãos
To be conveyed into all heathen countries
E ele contou sobre seus irmãos, ultrapassados por homens cristãos
And he told about their brethern, overtaken by christian men
Agora punido pela cruz e pelas leis cristãs
Now punished by the cross and christian laws

Então o homem desmontou e seu cavalo foi levado pelas rédeas para ser levado ao estábulo
So the man dismounted and his horse was taken by it's bridle to be brought into the stabling
Enquanto isso, ele foi conduzido ao salão onde o rei estava sentado em seu trono
Meanwhile he was lead to the hall where the king sat on his greatseat
Imediatamente ele lhe contou as razões de sua vinda
Forthwith he told him the reasons for his coming
E em poucos minutos todas as pessoas foram reunidas pela voz poderosa do rei
And withing a few minutes all people were gathered by the king's mighty voice
Então ele se levantou e começou a falar sobre o maior exército pagão que já viu
So he rose on his feet and began to speak about the greatest heathen host ever see
Passando em direção à terra de seus irmãos
Passing towards their brethern land

Depois de três dias e noites cavalgando a fronteira eles finalmente chegaram
After three days and nights of riding the frontier they finally reached
Com seus lares totalmente determinados
With their hearths wholly determined
E encontrei a igreja cristã em seus bosques outrora sagrados
And encountered the christian church in their once sacred woods
Enquanto o capelão tocava a campainha
As the chaplain just chimed the bell
Imediatamente eles colocaram esporas em seus cavalos
At once they put the spurs in their horses
As lareiras estavam cheias de raiva e ódio
Hearths were filled with rage and hate

And in their hands they held the torches

When Odhinn was amongst and Tyr was leading their hearts

And the shields were forged in blood

And sacrifices were given to the Goddesses and the Gods

In the woods by the mighty tree

Known in heathen kingdoms as the mighty Irminsul

That was built as an immense landmark
De orgulho e honra pagãos
Of heathen pride and honour

And a symbol of what shall be
