O primeiro Natal os anjos anunciaramThe first Noel the angels did say
Foi para certos pastores pobres que estavam no campo;Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;
Nos campos onde estavam cuidando de suas ovelhasIn fields where they lay keeping their sheep
Em uma noite fria de inverno que era tão profunda.On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Eles olharam para cima e viram uma estrelaThey looked up and saw a star
Brilhando no Oriente, longe deles,Shining in the East, beyond them far,
E à terra deu grande luz,And to the earth it gave great light,
E assim continuou, tanto de dia quanto de noite.And so it continued, both day and night.

E pela luz daquela mesma estrelaAnd by the light of that same star
Três sábios vieram de terras distantes,Three wise men came from country far,
Buscar um Rei era sua intenção,To seek for a King was their intent,
E seguir a estrela onde quer que fosse.And to follow the star whereever it went.

Essa estrela se aproximou do noroeste;This star drew nigh to the northwest;
Sobre Belém ela fez sua parada.O'er Bethlehem it took its rest.
E ali parou e ficou,And there it did both stop and stay,
Bem sobre o lugar onde Jesus estava.Right over the place whcre Jesus lay.

Então eles souberam com certezaThen they did know assuredly
Que naquela casa, o Rei estava deitadoWithin that house, the King did lie
Um entrou então para verOne entered in then for to see
E encontrou o menino na pobreza.And found the babe in poverty.

Então entraram aqueles três sábios,Then entered in those wise men three,
Com grande reverência, de joelhos dobrados,Full reverently, upon bended knee,
E ofereceram ali, em Sua presença,And offered there, in His presence,
Seu ouro, mirra e incenso.Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.

Se fizermos bem em nosso tempoIf we in our time do well
Seremos livres da morte e do infernoWe shall be free from death and hell
Pois Deus preparou para todos nósFor God hath prepared for us all
Um lugar de descanso em geral.A resting place in general.
