Awkward Age
of all the things i've learned from hanging around this place
one thing's for sure, nothing stays the same
like pictures in the clouds, like the way it is right now
with no one else to blame, this is an awkward age
i grew up right here, with the sun in my backyard
on the left coast with the right amount of everything good
now the walls replace the trees
like the wants replace the needs
and now i can't behave in this awkward age

it's always something else these days
it's a brand new book, it's a clean white page
and yesterday is long gone
i made a short list of things that i need to feel complete
but now i've lost my place
this is an awkward age
but i haven't lost my way

i finally sucked the clouds out of my head

but it's only a number, a tiny piece of forever to hold on to

Idade Estranha
de todas as coisas que aprendi por aqui
uma coisa é certa, nada fica igual
como fotos nas nuvens, como está agora
sem ninguém pra culpar, essa é uma idade estranha
cresci bem aqui, com o sol no meu quintal
na costa esquerda com a dose certa de tudo que é bom
agora as paredes substituem as árvores
como os desejos substituem as necessidades
e agora não consigo me comportar nessa idade estranha

sempre é algo diferente esses dias
é um livro novinho, é uma página em branco
e ontem já foi embora
fiz uma lista curta de coisas que preciso pra me sentir completo
