Diseased

On a cold winters night
The Moon in the sky
The stars like diamonds in your eyes
The air becomes thin
Feel the darkness within
I couldn't stomach all the medicine

And now the sharks are closing in
(I know they're circling every time I close my eyes)
I feel them course under my skin
(A cancer eating all my sins)

Am I still alive
Is death the only answer?
How can I survive
And find a cure for this disease?

Fire burns through my veins
Feel numb with the pain
The taste of life is so sickening
Until the end I will fight
Help me follow the light
It takes us all in the blink of an eye

We come before you
In this solemn moment
Seeking your comfort and peace
As we lay our beloved to rest
We thank you for the gift of their life
The joy they brought into our hearts

How can you watch me as I fall
Am I still alive?
