então o urso-pardo andou bem no meio da estradaWell the bear marched out in the middle of the road

pendurando-se sobre uma grande árvoreClimbed up a cinnamon tree

então o urso-pardo se sentou no chãoWell the bear sat down on the ground
o pregador ficou em cima do galhoPreacher out on a limb
ele ergueu os olhos para o céuHe turned his eyes to the Lord in the skies
e disse estas pálavras a DeusThese words he said unto Him

ele disse:oh Senhor!He said, "Oh Lord!
tu não livrastes Daniel da cóva dos leões?Didn't you deliver Daniel from the Lions' Den?

e Jonas da barriga de uma baleia e, tambémJonah from the belly of a whale and then
três jovens hebreus da fornalha de fogoThree hebrew children from the fiery furnace
o bom livro não declara?The good book do declare
oh SenhorOh, Lord
se não me ajudardes,então não ajude o ursoIf you can't help me, please don't help that bear."

o pregador ficou em cima da árvoreThe Preacher stayed up in that tree
acho que passou á noite inteiraI think it was all night
ele disse:"oh Senhor,não ajude aquele ursoHe said, "Oh Lord, don't help that bear
ou tu verás uma luta terrível!"Or you'll see an awful fight!"

então simplesmente o galho partiuJust about then the limb let go
e o pregador caiu no chãoPreacher came a-tumblin' down
