Six White Boomers
In australia, christmas comes in the middle of a very hotsummer
so when santa claus delivers his presents
he's not taken around by reindeer because
they can't stand the terrible heat
he's taken around by six big, white, old man kangaroos
called the six white boomers
early on one christmas day
a joey kangaroo
was far from home and lost
in a great, big zoo
mommy....where's my mommy?
they've taken her away
we'll help you find your mommy, son
hop up on the sleigh
so up inside the bag of toys
little joey hopped
but they hadn't gone far when santa stopped
unharnessed all the reindeer
and joey wondered why
then he heard a far off booming in the sky
(boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom)

racing santa claus through the blazing sun

on his australian run
pretty soon old santa began to feel the heat
took his fur-lined boots off to cool his feet
into one popped joey
feelin' quite okay
while those old man kangaroos kept pullin' on the sleigh

then joey said to santa, "santa, what about the toys?
aren't you giving some to these girls and boys?"
"well, they've all had their presents, sonny
we were here last night
this trip is an extra trip
joey's special flight

soon the sleigh was flashing past

"slow down there!" cried santa
"it can't be far
hop up on my lap here, son
and have a look around"
"there, there she is!
that's mommy! bounding up and down!"

well, that's the bestest christmas treat
that joey ever had
curled up in mother's pouch feeling snug and glad
the last they saw was santa heading northwards from the sun
the only year the boomers worked a double run

Seis Cangurus Brancos
Na Austrália, o Natal chega no meio de um verão bem quente
então quando o Papai Noel entrega seus presentes
não é puxado por renas porque
elas não aguentam o calor terrível
ele é levado por seis grandes, brancos, velhos cangurus
chamados os seis cangurus brancos
cedo em um dia de Natal
um filhote de canguru
estava longe de casa e perdido
em um grande zoológico
mamãe... onde está minha mamãe?
levaram ela embora
nós vamos te ajudar a encontrar sua mamãe, filho
sobe na sleigh
então dentro do saco de brinquedos
o pequeno filhote pulou
mas não tinham ido longe quando o Papai Noel parou
desapertou todas as renas
e o filhote se perguntou por quê
então ouviu um barulho distante no céu

correndo com o Papai Noel sob o sol escaldante

logo o velho Noel começou a sentir o calor
tirou suas botas forradas de pele para refrescar os pés
um filhote pulou para dentro
se sentindo bem
enquanto aqueles velhos cangurus continuavam puxando a sleigh

então o filhote disse ao Noel, "Papai Noel, e os brinquedos?
não vai dar alguns para essas meninas e meninos?"
"bem, todos já ganharam seus presentes, filho
estivemos aqui na noite passada
essa viagem é uma viagem extra
um voo especial do filhote

logo a sleigh estava passando rápido
bem sobre Marble Bar
"diminui aí!" gritou o Noel
"não pode estar longe
sobe no meu colo aqui, filho
e dá uma olhada ao redor"
"olha, lá está ela!
é a mamãe! pulando pra cima e pra baixo!"

bem, essa foi a melhor surpresa de Natal
que o filhote já teve
enrolado na bolsa da mãe, se sentindo confortável e feliz
a última vez que viram foi o Noel indo para o norte sob o sol
o único ano que os cangurus fizeram uma corrida dupla
