You know when I was a kid, I used to out into the pasture late at night
Kicked the old cow and made her get up, so I could lay down on the warm grass where she'd been.
Then I just lay there and wait for the 10.20 train to go by
And watch all them fine folks sittin' upon that train, everybody goin' somewhere
Maybe somebody waiting at the end o' line to say howdy.
I tell you right then and there I said to myself, someday I'm gonna have me a ride on a train, and when I get where I'm goin' there'II somebody waitin' there for me too.
Well I got me a train ride alright, one way right in here, with a whole bunch of unfitting' people to be with. And when I got to the gate, there's somebody waitin'; old capt'n
And he didn't have the decency to say hello.
Well I didn't intend to stay this long you know, but I wanna ain't gonna leave here 'til he says hello.

Man when my old lady cook opossum.
The first day she diggin' in a bottle of scorn squeezings and juice it up a little while.
The next day she put in a bottle of bourbon and juice that up a little while.
Then she put in a bottle o' dandy lion wine and juice that up a little bit.
Then the 'possum man sure was ,some good gravy.
Oh Dowbally, what you figure your old lady's doin' in Memphis tonight?

You just climb up in your bunk, you'll have more friends then you know what to do with and you be so busy scratching, you don't have time to get lonesome.

I figured the only way to get out o' here was to make friends with old Rattler.

So every morning for six months I sneaked out and gave old Rattler all my breakfast scraps.
Six months, then I made my getaway.
But man showin' up, they turned old Rattler, and showin' off he treat me and showin' off to capt'n brought me right back in here.
Why you reckon old Rattler would have done that to you?
That dirty lousy old flea bitten, he got so used to them scraps, I guess he didn't wanna let 'em go.
That's old Rattler. Sshh, there goes a guard.
Man just listen to that rain.
This is the only bunkhouse it rains inside and leaks outside.
Falando e Significando
Rapaz, tá quente pra caramba aqui essa noite

Ei Dallas, sabe o que o cozinheiro vai fazer pro jantar?

Todo dia, feijão bem cozido, feijão coberto de feijão,
feijão mal passado e mais uma coisa-- feijão.
Não esquece deles. Tem que colocar uns feijões aí.
Sabe, quando eu era criança, eu costumava sair pro pasto de noite
Chutava a velha vaca pra ela levantar, pra eu poder deitar na grama quente onde ela tinha estado.
Aí eu só deitava lá e esperava o trem das 10:20 passar
E assistia todo aquele povo chique sentado naquele trem, todo mundo indo pra algum lugar
Talvez alguém esperando no final da linha pra dizer um oi.
Eu te digo, bem ali eu pensei comigo mesmo, um dia eu vou andar de trem, e quando eu chegar onde eu tô indo, vai ter alguém me esperando lá também.
Bom, eu consegui andar de trem, sim, uma viagem só pra cá, com um monte de gente esquisita pra ficar junto. E quando eu cheguei no portão, tinha alguém esperando; o velho capitão
E ele não teve a decência de dizer olá.
Bom, eu não pretendia ficar tanto tempo aqui, sabe, mas eu não vou sair daqui até ele dizer olá.

Rapaz, quando minha velha cozinha gambá.
No primeiro dia, ela pega uma garrafa de suco de amargura e deixa de molho um tempinho.
No dia seguinte, ela coloca uma garrafa de bourbon e deixa de molho um tempinho.
Depois ela coloca uma garrafa de vinho de dente-de-leão e deixa de molho um pouco.
Então o gambá, rapaz, fica com um molho bom.

Rapaz, um dia eu vou colocar meu pé em cima da sua cabeça, eu te disse que não brinco com isso.

Então, toda manhã por seis meses eu saía escondido e dava todas as sobras do meu café da manhã pro velho Rattler.
Seis meses, aí eu fiz minha fuga.
Mas, rapaz, quando eu apareci, eles entregaram o velho Rattler, e ele se exibiu e me entregou pro capitão, me trouxe de volta pra cá.
Por que você acha que o velho Rattler fez isso com você?
Aquele velho sujo e cheio de pulgas, ele se acostumou tanto com as sobras que acho que não queria largar.
Esse é o velho Rattler. Sshh, lá vem um guarda.

Esse é o único alojamento que chove dentro e vaza pra fora.
