In walls
a tuesday morning, November
i slept at your house the night before
we couldn't wait to get up to go for
a big breakfast in an old fashioned diner
a full meal six coffee refills later
we both have to be at work in an hour
let's call in sick i suggest to her
i'll call your boss and tell her that you're under
the weather, you'll call mine, you'll tell her
that i'm very sick and that
you're my mother
so we walk down the street
looking for a phone booth we
rehearse what we're going to say
so that we can have this day....away
we find a phone booth with room for two
i call your boss and i don't speak the truth
they're pretty mad about you but...they'll get through
you call my work in my mother's voice
they believe you.....and it starts to rain outside
in our phone booth we hide
it doesn't let up until 5
squished together we don't mind

uma manhã de terça-feira, novembro
i dormia em sua casa na noite anterior
não podia esperar para se levantar para ir para
um grande pequeno-almoço em um restaurante à moda antiga
uma refeição completa seis recargas de café mais tarde
nós dois temos que estar no trabalho em uma hora
vamos chamar de doente eu sugiro a ela
Vou ligar para seu chefe e dizer-lhe que você está sob
o tempo, você vai chamar o meu, você vai dizer a ela
que eu estou muito doente e que
você é minha mãe
por isso andar na rua
à procura de uma cabine telefônica que
ensaiar o que vamos dizer
para que possamos ter este dia longe ....
encontramos uma cabine telefônica com espaço para dois
eu chamo o seu chefe e eu não falo a verdade
eles são muito loucas sobre você, mas ... eles vão passar por
você chamar meu trabalho na voz de minha mãe
eles acreditam que você ..... e começa a chover fora
em nossa cabine telefônica que escondemos
não deixe até 5
squished juntos, não me importo
