watched tv too much last night
made me nervous and numb at the same time
how greedy we've become
yet more fragile that ever
as bitterness crawls behind that indolent smile

like two wrongs could make a right
like we couldn't live without them anymore
the worst thing is that we've all been lied to
and it doesn't even bother us anymore
