A coruja adorava descansar quieta enquanto ninguém estava olhando
Owl loved to rest quietly whilst no one was watching
Sentado em uma cerca um dia
Sitting on a fence one day
Ela ficou surpresa quando de repente um canguru passou por perto
He was surprised when suddenly a kangaroo ran close by
Agora, isso pode não parecer estranho
Now this may not seem strange
Mas quando a coruja ouviu o sussurro do canguru para ninguém em particular
But when owl overheard kangaroo whisper to no one in particular
A lebre perdeu seus óculos, bem, ele começou a se perguntar
The hare has lost his spectacles, well, he began to wonder

Atualmente, a lua apareceu por trás de uma nuvem e lá
Presently, the Moon appeared from behind a cloud and there
Deitada na grama estava uma lebre
Lying on the grass was hare
No riacho que fluía pela grama uma salamandra
In the stream that flowed by the grass a newt

And sitting astride a twig of a bush a bee

Ostensibly motionless, the hare was trembling with excitement

For without his spectacles he appeared completely helpless

How could an intelligent hare make such a silly mistake?

But all this time, owl had been sitting on the fence, scowling!

A kangaroo were hopping mad at this sort of talk
Ela se considerava muito superior em inteligência aos outros
She thought herself far superior in intelligence to the others
Ela era sua líder, sua guru, ela tinha a resposta
She was their leader, their guru, she had the answer

Hare, you must go in search of the optician

But then she realized that hare
