Aquele que habita no esconderijo do AltíssimoHe who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
À sombra do Onipotente descansaráWill abide under the shadow of the Almighty
Direi do SenhorI will say of the Lord
Ele é meu refúgio e minha fortaleza, meu Deus, nele confioHe is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I trust

Pois ele te livrará do laço do passarinheiro e da peste perniciosaFor He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence
Ele te cobrirá com Suas penasHe will cover you with His feathers
E sob Suas asas você confiaráAnd under His wings you will trust
Sua verdade será seu escudo e broquelHis truth will be your shield and buckler
Ele não temerá o terror da noite, nem a flecha que voa de diaHe will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day
Nem a peste que anda na escuridãoNor the pestilence that stalks in darkness
Nem a morte que destrói ao meio-diaNor the death that destroys at noonday

Mil cairão ao teu ladoA thousand may fall at your side
E dez mil à tua direitaAnd ten thousand at your right hand
Mas tu não serás atingidoBut it will not come near you
Somente com os teus olhos contemplarásOnly with your eyes will you behold
E verás a recompensa dos ímpiosAnd see the reward of the wicked
Pois tu, Senhor, és o meu refúgioFor you, O Lord, are my refuge
No Altíssimo fizeste a tua habitaçãoIn the Most High you have made your dwelling place
Nenhum mal te sucederá, nem praga alguma chegará à tua tendaNo evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent

Porque os seus anjos lhe darão ordens a teu respeitoFor his angels will give him charge over you
Para te guardar em todos os teus caminhosTo guard you in all your ways
Eles te sustentarão nas mãosThey will bear you up in their hands
Para que não tropeces em pedra algumaSo that you will not dash your foot against a stone
Pisarás o leão e a cobraYou will tread on the lion and the cobra
Pisotearás o leãozinho e a serpenteThe young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot
Porque ele pôs seu amor em mimBecause he has set his love on me
Portanto eu o livrareiTherefore I will deliver him
Eu o colocarei num lugar altoI will set him on high
Porque conheço meu nomeBecause I have known my name

Ele me invocará, e eu lhe respondereiHe will call on me, and I will answer him
Estarei com ele na angústiaI will be with him in trouble
Eu o livrarei e o honrareiI will deliver him and honor him

Com vida longaWith long life
O satisfarei e lhe mostrarei minha salvaçãoI will satisfy him and show him my salvation
