For whom does the bell toll?

For whom does it ring?

The children of God will see his face, and will sing,

And though I walk through valleys and shadows of death, I know that you are near me, and I will fear no evil.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,

He makes me lie down in fields so green,

He leads me beside the waters so still,

He lifts up my soul when I grow weak,

He leads me in paths of righteousness,

All this he does for his name's sake.

Thou preparest a table in the presence of my foes,

He annointeth my head with oil, and my cup overflows,

And goodness and mercy shall follow me,

And I will dwell in the house of God forever.

E mesmo que eu ande por vales e sombras da morte, eu sei que você está perto de mim, e não temerei o mal.

O Senhor é meu pastor; nada me faltará,

Ele me faz descansar em campos tão verdes,

Ele me guia junto às águas tranquilas,

Ele renova minha alma quando eu me sinto fraco,

Ele me guia por caminhos de justiça,

Tudo isso ele faz por amor ao seu nome.

Sim, mesmo que eu ande por vales de morte, não temerei o mal.

Tu preparas uma mesa na presença dos meus inimigos,

Ele unge minha cabeça com óleo, e meu cálice transborda,

E a bondade e a misericórdia me seguirão,

E habitarei na casa de Deus para sempre.
