Near Adelaide

There’s a motion I find, as we move forward in time.
With every moment I fear if I stay and wait for today to arrive.
Then I can see my own sky, another moment behind.
But would I forget to tell myself to watch it again.

I look back at the sun, and I want to stay.
Disappear someone else sees today.

Had to warn myself not to look away.
I could never forget, swirling over my head.
Time forgetting to bring me with you has left me right here instead.
Because today is convinced that I will not remember the past.
One last look in the glass the lens focused thinks I’m moving too fast.
