I've been standing in the quiet glow
Of a world that never really sleeps
Faces flicker on a silver screen
Selling dreams they promise I can keep
Every smile feels just a little staged
Every word sounds perfectly rehearsed
But I keep searching through the noise
For something real beneath the surface
I feel the weight behind the lights
A shadow dancing in plain sight
If hope is playing just a role
Why does it pull me in so close?
The screen keeps shining bright tonight
Telling me everything's alright
But in my heart I feel the truth
There's more than what they choose to show
I'm reaching past the perfect view
Beyond the glow they want me to know
I'm chasing something deep and true
Not just the light that steals the show
Every promise sounds so loud
When it's wrapped in gold and neon tones
But silence speaks another side
When I'm standing here alone
I've learned the distance between
What we see and what we feel
Is where the bravest hearts decide
If the illusion is still real
I hear the echo in my mind

If faith is more than what appears
