Painting by numbers always astounds me
Do you really need numbers to know that it’s art?
Maybe it’s failing that you’re afraid of
The feeling of failure, the feeling of shame

I am used to failure by now

Rules and guidelines have always bound me
Constricting and eating me from within
A mighty boa wrapping around me
A dubious serpent of stagnating sin

Maybe it’s failing that I'm afraid of
