For thousands of years Stonehenge has been a sacred meeting place for people - Furthermore in 1918 it was gifted to the nation the then "owner" on the condition that there sholud be free access for all who wished to gather there so what gives you the right, the power to decide that the people's access to the stones will be denied? We won't be stopped by cops, four miles "exclusion zones" 'cos we're coming through to liberate the stones

Winter solstice 1988 - Stonehenge - Bands playing, jugglers juggling, people breathing fire, gathering wood in the trees as the music echoed through the night air, laughing, sitting round the campfire talking and sharing food and drink - An amazingly friendly atmosphere - In the morning, gathering before dawn at the stones, dancing round the stone circle hand in hand - A little magic in the midst of our grey, drab world of concrete and exhaust fumes...
Summer solstice 1989 - Riot police, road-blocks, coming up against the full force of the state, chased through woods by the cops, hiding in the ditches while helicopter searchlights sliced through darkness to find us, fear, anger, determination - That they will not beat us, that they will not destroy our culture... A response: If they think they can stop us gathering together for free festivals they are wrong. Our response to our experiences was just to come and organise a free festival on Cramond Island near Edinburgh.

Por milhares de anos, Stonehenge tem sido um lugar sagrado de encontro para as pessoas - Além disso, em 1918, foi doado à nação pelo então "dono" com a condição de que houvesse acesso livre para todos que quisessem se reunir lá, então o que te dá o direito, o poder de decidir que o acesso do povo às pedras será negado? Não seremos parados pela polícia, zonas de "exclusão" a quatro milhas, porque estamos chegando para libertar as pedras

Solstício de inverno de 1988 - Stonehenge - Bandas tocando, malabaristas malabarando, pessoas respirando fogo, juntando lenha nas árvores enquanto a música ecoava pelo ar da noite, rindo, sentados ao redor da fogueira conversando e compartilhando comida e bebida - Uma atmosfera incrivelmente amigável - De manhã, reunindo-se antes do amanhecer nas pedras, dançando ao redor do círculo de pedras de mãos dadas - Um pouco de magia no meio do nosso mundo cinza e sem graça de concreto e fumaça de escapamento...
Solstício de verão de 1989 - Polícia de choque, bloqueios de estrada, enfrentando toda a força do estado, perseguidos pela polícia nas florestas, escondendo-se nas valas enquanto os holofotes dos helicópteros cortavam a escuridão para nos encontrar, medo, raiva, determinação - Que eles não vão nos vencer, que não vão destruir nossa cultura... Uma resposta: Se eles acham que podem nos impedir de nos reunir para festivais gratuitos, estão enganados. Nossa resposta às nossas experiências foi simplesmente vir e organizar um festival gratuito na Ilha Cramond, perto de Edimburgo.
