Why is upside turning down
Why are all these people runnin' round
Why are nations in a rage
And selfish dictators on the stage
Why is this planet hungry for war
Who has the right to shut the door
On the poverty-stricken child I see
Why can't we help them you and me
Why does the media glorify
All the bad news, turn a blind eye
To the good unselfish things people do
You're asking me, I'm asking you

Lift our brother in humanity

Why are we rushing so fast
To things we know that just can't last
Why are we slipping into debt
For things we can't pay
And leave us with regret
